Many couples in America are unhappy with their lives, so to solve this issue they take a major step and get a divorce. A divorce is a legal action between married people to terminate their marriage relationship. It can also be referred to as a cancellation of marriage and is basically, the legal action that ends the marriage before the death of either spouse.
In todays society many factors contribute to this, after repeated arguements, fights, and constant depression people loss hope in their marriages. In order to terminate the marriage the parties and the court must decide how to handle the questions of custody and placement of minor children and how to divide the property and money of the two. I think its so sad how some little children are caught in the middle confused and scare not knowing whats going on. You hear about this all the time on tv, the radio, and in the newspaper, disagreements about how the moneyshould be split and who gets what... State laws presume each party is entitled to one half of the martial property and each party is responsible for one half of the money.
To avoid the "D" word some people resort to legal separation, which is a lot like a divorce. It involves the same process, however at the end the parties are legally separated instead of being divorced. That means they are still married but not responsible for each other. Why go through all that, might as well get a divorce. In 2008, 46% of all marriages involve a remarriage for one or both spouses. It is estimated that 40% of all marriages have ended in divorce.
I consider my parents as a good role models. They have been married for 18 years, which is good because some couples can't survive 6. And they do what every couple do: disagree, argue, and what not. But in the end they always work it out and get over it. Some would say maybe their not happy and their tryin to make it work for me. I don't think so, and if so I really do appreciate it.....P.s I would hate to have to go through a divorce.
